This cable is a part of HighPoint Technologies' NVMe RAID solutions, such as the SSD7184 NVMe RAID AIC, which is a low-profile, 8-channel (Internal & External) U.2 NVMe RAID Controller with dedicated PCIe 3.0 x16 to deliver up to 14000MB/s of transfer performance.

It is designed for use with HighPoint SSD6540 series eNVMe RAID enclosures and the HighPoint RS6540S NVMe enclosure.

The cable is used to connect SFF-8644 connectors and supports PCIe 3.0 x8 data transfer.
