Innovative Design

When a metallic ground plane is available, all "FS" antennas are compatible with vehicles, trucks, vans, motorbikes, and ATVs in a single antenna configuration. They can also be utilized in dual (co-phased) form on any vehicle built of any material.

The tunable tip mechanism is made from rust-proof brass and has a rubber o-ring to hold the adjuster in place after tuning.

"FS" antennas, like all CB antennas, should be fine-tuned (SWR) in their final mounting location. If you've ever tuned a non-tunable tip antenna, you'll understand why "FS" antennas are so popular. To tune a "FS" antenna, just remove the tip and turn the adjustment screw up or down as necessary.

All "FS" antennas outperform the specifications of any CB radio, new or old. Aside from the high-performance loading coil that optimizes your CB's transmit/receive functionality, these top-loaded antennas will also receive NOAA emergency weather alerts and national weather broadcasts for radios that have those characteristics.

The "FS" antennas are built entirely in the United States from entirely American components. Use a specifically mixed, glass fiber reinforced shaft to strike a balance between flexibility and toughness. Each is wound with strong insulated copper wire to prevent oxidation and shorted windings, which are common problems with non-Firestik antennas.

Peak Performance

The adjustable tip mechanism is made of rust-proof brass and has a rubber o-ring to secure the adjuster after tuning. The tapered contact point on the 3/8"-24 threaded base works exceptionally well with Firestik mounts and accessories.

The tapered "lug-nut" effect transmits stress away from the threads, reducing the probability of vibration-induced antenna loosening in its mount. Each antenna is protected by a watertight, static-reducing sheath with UV and pigment stabilizers.

We recommend using one of the 18-foot Fire-Flex coaxial cables with these antennas for peak performance.

All antennas in the "FS" series are factory bench tested for resonant frequency and general quality. These are antennas that are dependent on the ground plane.

To function correctly, they require a metallic counterpoise.They are not suitable for use on non-metallic (composite) or metal-deficient vehicles. These antennas should be checked and tuned over the radio's working frequency before being used with a transmitter (rather than a receiver).

Transmitting with an untested, untuned antenna can damage the transmitter circuitry. Ground-plane antennas require mounting brackets and antenna stud mounts that are grounded to the chassis. Insulated coatings such as powder coating, paint, and/or anodized surfaces must be stripped down to the metal surface whenever a grounding point is required.
