Each DDR5 IC has twice as many banks and bank groups and a doubled burst length. This is so that the faster frequency speed can be fully used and the data transfer rate can be boosted. There are 32 banks across 8 banks, and the burst length is 16.

DDR5 memory is able to send more data than DDR4 because it has a module layout with two 32-bit sub-channels.
