CABLE-FREE CONNECTIONS

In SeaSonic's design, the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is connected to the back panel by a copper plate rather than by cable.

In addition to reducing manual inserting errors, the quality of output has markedly improved since this solution was implemented.

HYBRID SILENT FAN CONTROL

As a result of a switch on the back of SeaSonic's power supply, the Focus Platinum 850W offers two fan control options: Fanless Control (fan control without fan-less operation) or Fan Control (fan control with fan-less function).

FAN CONTROL BUTTON

Focus PLUS power supplies feature a fan control button next to the power switch, and you can select different fan control modes according to your needs.

This button should not be pressed if you select Fanless Mode, meaning that when the power supply is under light load, there will be no fan spinning.

Press the button if you want the fan to run constantly, even when the load is low.

FAN BEARINGS WITH FLUID DYNAMICS

A Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fan is a high performance fan that takes advantage of oil's impact absorbance effect.

In comparison with ball bearing fans, they are extremely reliable and generate much less operating noise and heat.

By lubricating the bearing surface, friction and vibration are reduced and as a result, the power consumption is reduced.

This fan technology is also a great asset to prolonged fan life because it rotates more quietly and is robust.

A QUICK DESCRIPTION

During rotation of the fan shaft, high pressure oil drifts down the grooves of the bearing sleeve to make a thin layer of lubricant between the bearing faces.

Dynamic oil pressure increases as rotation speed increases, and the shaft is lifted from the bearing, resulting in smooth, effortless rotation.

In addition to channeling lubricant efficiently, the herringbone shape of the grooves prevents leakage.
