The SI-PEX40139 is able to add five additional SATA III ports to any free PCI-e x4 slot with PCIe Gen3 x2 bandwidth by using the JMB585 chipset.
By adding FIS-based switching design to the storage solution based on the data transfer of multiple hard drives, the bottleneck caused by simultaneously operating multiple SATA storage devices can be overcome.
JMB585 is capable of transmitting data at a maximum rate of 1700MB/s, which is the maximum transfer rate of PCIe Gen3 x2.
